Members from the Government Trial and Appellate Counsel Division tour the Gettysburg National Military Park
Members from the Government Trial and Appellate Counsel Division (JAJG) recently traveled to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg, PA. The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War and ultimately led to President Abraham Lincoln's famous "Gettysburg Address" where he delivered a "few appropriate remarks" at the dedication of a national cemetery four months after the battle. The group toured the new museum and visitor center before receiving a tour of the battlefield from licensed battlefield guides. The tour covered the entire battlefield, stopping at key sites of the epic 1-3 July 1863 battle.
